easyJet Takes Off With Workday Human Capital Management

Leading European Airline to Transform Human Resources in the Workday Cloud

PLEASANTON, CA and LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwired - Apr 8, 2014) -  Workday, Inc. (NYSE: WDAY), a leader in enterprise cloud applications for global human resources and finance, today announced that easyJet plc (LSE: EZJ), one of Europe's leading airlines, has selected Workday Human Capital Management (HCM). With Workday's unified application for human resources (HR) in the cloud, easyJet plans to enhance talent management practices and modernize reporting and analytics capabilities, while delivering to its rapidly growing employee base of 8,000 an intuitive, easy-to-use HR application that can be accessed from mobile devices.

As the UK's largest and Europe's fourth largest airline, easyJet flies on almost 700 routes to more than 130 airports across 34 countries and has the leading presence among Europe's top 100 routes. Last year, the company flew more than 60 million passengers while maintaining a leading European network that focuses on making travel easy and affordable for customers and delivering a friendly and efficient service at a low cost. In a highly competitive market where price and service are critical drivers of growth, easyJet continually looks for opportunities to simplify systems and processes and identify and optimize the talent responsible for delivering great customer experiences.

easyJet's workforce has grown from a few hundred employees to several thousand in a relatively short period of time. This is due in part to the company culture, which is an essential component of the airline's strategy to recruit talent that will deliver high levels of customer service. With Workday HCM, easyJet will benefit from a cloud application that unifies core HR and talent management, delivering a seamless experience from the onboarding process that helps employees integrate into the culture quickly all the way through succession planning to help manage the most essential jobs in the organization. Workday performance management tools will help easyJet manage its talent globally, developing a common language for performance and creating greater transparency across its workforce.

In addition, since Workday analytics are built into the core of the application, easyJet will gain access to meaningful insights around key indicators such as cost, capacity, and capability of its workforce, helping to drive hiring and sourcing decisions throughout the organization. Further, easyJet will be able to access a variety of reports, which are configurable to the needs of the business and delivered through dynamic dashboards that will speed up decision-making and reduce the reliance on IT for support.

Delivered through the cloud via any mobile device, Workday HCM was built for ease of use with an intuitive user experience that will enable easyJet employees and managers, who are regularly traveling between countries and airports, to quickly update key personal data or access reports to help them be more productive. Self-service capabilities within Workday will put important processes, such as maintaining personal information, requesting time off, and managing performance reviews, in the hands of its employees.
